From road to air for Midlands taxi firms as Christmas donation supports Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

The Midlands’ two biggest taxi and private hire vehicle operators, Go Carz and A2B Radio Cars, have donated £1000 each to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC).

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. It also operates two critical care cars which are dispatched to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests, heart attacks and strokes. The lifesaving services they provide daily are completely reliant on local people’s generosity as they do not receive government funding.

Go Carz and A2B Radio Cars, both regional hubs of Veezu, are always keen to help the local community where possible and stepped in to donate to the worthy cause, helping to keep both driver partners and passengers safe on the road.

Graham Hoof from Go Carz said: “The work that the MAAC do is lifesaving, and it is especially important to us as much of their work is responding to road traffic collisions. “We are thankful for their service and just want to help them to continue to provide it, especially over the colder months where their time-saving reactions can make all the difference.”

Pam Hodgetts, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We undertake up to 12 missions every single day, all of which are funded through the generosity of the communities we serve and local businesses.
