NSPCC Cymru Christmas Partnership

Christmas should be a joyful time, but we know it's not the same for everyone. For many children and young people across Wales, the festive period can bring increased feelings of loneliness, family pressures, or anxiety—especially when schools are closed and daily routines changed.

That's why we were proud to continue our support for NSPCC Cymru this past December, helping ensure that vulnerable children had someone to turn to when they needed it most.

Every Journey Made a Difference

Throughout December, a portion of revenue from every journey booked via the Veezu app was donated directly to NSPCC Cymru to support their Childline service. This wasn't just a one-off—since 2023, we've donated over £40,000 to help the charity meet rising demand for its essential services.

This continued partnership is part of our  Funded by Veezu programme, which supports local charities, sports teams, and community projects across the UK. This past Christmas, our focus was on making sure counsellors could be there for young people whenever they reached out.

Why Childline Matters More at Christmas

Christmas can be particularly challenging for children facing abuse, neglect, bullying, or mental health struggles. When schools close and safe spaces become less accessible, many young people feel they have nowhere else to turn.

NSPCC Cymru's Childline provides:

• A safe, confidential space for children to talk • Trained counsellors available 24/7, day and night • Support for issues ranging from loneliness to serious safeguarding concerns

Every contribution—including the rides our passengers booked with us—helped ensure these vital services remained available to every child who needed them.

A Partnership Rooted in Community

This isn't just corporate responsibility—it's personal. Many of our driver-partners and passengers are parents, carers, and community members who understand how crucial these services are. When you booked a ride with Veezu in December, you weren't just getting from A to B—you were helping create a safety net for children across Wales.

The Impact We Made Together

Thanks to our passengers who chose to ride with Veezu throughout December, we were able to contribute meaningful support to Childline during one of their busiest periods of the year.

• More counsellors available during peak demand periods • Extended support hours when children need it most • Resources for training and supporting the counselling team • Continued availability of this vital free service
