Leading taxi and private hire technology platform Veezu has donated £1000 to Women’s Aid Bristol, to support their ‘Come Together to End Domestic Abuse’ campaign.
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms. They have just under 170 local domestic abuse organisations, providing refuges, helplines and domestic abuse services in local communities across the country.
The Come Together to End Domestic Abuse campaign is Women’s Aid 50th birthday campaign, which will be celebrated in 2024 but has been launched before the new year.
Veezu’s regional hub in the South West stepped in to donate to the worthy cause through its new community support programme ‘Funded by Veezu’. The programme is a way in which local not-for-profit initiatives can apply for grants between £500 and £1000.
Jack Price, Regional Director at Veezu, said: “Driver-partners operate in the heart of their communities and often hear first-hand the difficulties people face. We wanted to give something back to those in need in our local area and hope this donation will bring some Christmas cheer to those who really need it.”
Sarah Scott, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Women’s Aid Bristol, said: “We are so grateful to Veezu for their kind donation towards our new campaign. They have helped us raise not only vital funds which will help us continue our lifesaving services, but awareness of the fight against gender-based violence.”
